George Stanley Burdynski Jr.
What you need to know:
Born on July 29th, 1982
Disappeared on May 24th, 1993 from Brentwood, Maryland
Has dark blonde hair and brown eyes
Goes by the nickname 'Junior'
Has a scar on the right side of his face, above his mouth.
Was last seen wearing a blue shirt, green shorts, and riding a 1950s era ride Schwinn bicycle
What we know about the case:
We know that Junior was last seen riding his bike around his neighbourhood at around 8:30pm on May 24th. The bike had a spare rim tied around the handlebars and was missing the rear fender.
The spare rim was located the next morning three blocks from his family home, but George and the bike were never seen again.
From my humble point of view:
I was motivated to write on this case after watching an episode of my beloved Cold Case. The murdered child had his bike stolen by the local bully and ended up in the hands of a pedophile while making his way on foot.
Yes, I am aware that the above is fiction, but it opens the door of thought for me. Three pedophiles were (are?) being investigated in the case and were arrested for child abuse a few years after his disappearance. They were also believed to have molested two of Junior's friends.
Could something have happened to Junior while he was out on his bike? Could he have fallen, become injured? Maybe the bike fell apart? Did this make him vulnerable to one of these local pedophiles?
I'm not sure if someone was careful enough to take Junior and the bike, that they would leave the rim behind, unless it was meant as a distraction.
I fear that without a confession, he will stay missing forever.
