Corrine Leanne Erstad
What you need to know:
Born on February 17th, 1987
Disappeared on June 1st, 1992 from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota
Has brown hair and brown eyes
Has scars on her forehead, lip and near her left eye
Is missing the tip of her left ring finger
Was last seen wearing a white sundress with watermelon print
What we know about her case:
We know that Corrine was last seen on her way to a neighborhood park on June 1st, 1992. Her two brothers went to retrieve her and she was nowhere to be found.
She was reportedly seen talking to an unknown male by a child in the park, and petting his dog.
A family friend named Robert Guevara was suspected in her disappearance. A dress similar to that she was last seen wearing was found in the trailer he was living in. It was covered in blood and other fluids, which could have come from him or Corrine. DNA testing wasn`t as sophisticated as it is now, so there was no way to determine this for sure.
Guevara was charged with her kidnapping and murder, but was acquitted in 1992. This was primarily because DNA evidence wasn't admissible in courts.
She was declared deceased in 1994, although her body has yet to be recovered.
From my humble point of view:
It actually makes me kind of sick to know that the person suspected responsible for hurting this beautiful little girl will never get what's coming to him. I have been following missing children's cases for a while now, and this one has stuck with me since I started. This girl deserves to be laid to rest. There has to be someone who knows something. The smallest detail may make a world of difference.
