Bryce Florian Herda
What you need to know:
Born on July 24th, 1988
Disappeared on April 9th, 1995 from Neah Bay, Washington
Has brown hair and brown eyes
Has a scar on his right forehead near the hairline, a mole/freckle on his right temple and a birthmark on his thigh.
Was last seen wearing a white tee shirt, green pants, white socks and white are red Power Rangers shoes
What we know about his case:
We know that Bryce was last seen out with his family on the Shi Shi Beach Train on the Makah Indian Reservation on April 9th, 1995. He was unable to walk up a slope on the trail and agreed to meet his family at another part of the beach. When his family showed up to get him, he was gone.
The only possible evidence were footprints found on the beach after Bryce vanished. They proved to lead nowhere however.
Bryce's family believes he was abducted,as their are various homeless camps along the trail. Authorities believe that he was swept out to sea.
From my humble point of view:
I am inclined to agree with the authorities on this one. A child goes missing from a beach trail? The logical explanation to me is that he was waiting for his family where they told him to wait, and as many children do, got bored. Perhaps went to play in the water and was swept in?
From where I see it, if he was abducted by a transient at a camp he would have been found in the ground search, or someone would have found him at some point after. I don't see how a homeless person could dispose of a body far from the area with no mode of transportation. Sure, they could have thrown him in the sea, but with the heavy Coast Guard presence in the area looking for Bryce, would it be worth the risk?
